Wind Run

Wind run is the total distance that the air has traveled past a measuring point during a 24 Hr period. For example, a wind run of 200 Km measured at 6pm means that a 'length of air' 200 Km long has past the measuring point from Midnight to 6pm on the day of the measurement.

The higher the Wind Run, the more overall wind for the day. For Example, A day that has had several strong wind gusts with calm periods may have a lower wind run than a day that has a steady breeze.
